01The monetary hedge

Store of value & Layer 1 protocols

The foundational layers of the digital asset economy, accumulated patiently and held for the long term.

These are the assets that serve as digital stores of value, or as the settlement layer for the internet: the base networks on which everything else in the digital asset economy is built.

The thesis

We believe two forces will continue to reward patient owners of these networks. The first is the debasement of fiat currencies, which drives demand for scarce, neutral and borderless reserve assets. The second is growing institutional adoption: as custody, accounting and regulation mature, the base layers become infrastructure that serious capital can hold.

What we look for

  • Networks with genuine network effects: users, developers and capital that reinforce each other
  • Security that has been tested in public over many years and across market cycles
  • Transparent, sustainable supply schedules, with issuance that a holder can model
  • A credible role as either a monetary asset or a settlement layer, not both claimed and neither earned

How we execute

Long-biased accumulation, with algorithmic execution to minimize slippage. We build positions over time rather than chasing price, and we hold them in cold storage and with institutional custodians. Permanent capital lets us add when others are forced to sell.

02Market-neutral income

Decentralized finance & yield

Liquidity provision, lending and staking that earn fees and yield while limiting directional price risk.

We act as a liquidity provider to the decentralized economy, earning fees and yield while limiting directional price risk.

The thesis

Inefficient markets pay for liquidity. Providing liquidity to stablecoin pools, lending against over-collateralized positions and staking to secure networks can generate yield with low correlation to broader markets. We treat that yield as income from a service—liquidity and security—rather than as a reward for taking hidden risk.

Where we work

  • Automated market makers (AMMs), where we provide liquidity and earn trading fees
  • Lending protocols, where we lend against over-collateralized positions
  • Liquid staking, where we help secure networks and earn staking rewards

How we manage risk

We use only audited smart contracts, and we underwrite every protocol as a credit exposure: who can change the code, how liquidations work under stress, where the oracle prices come from and what happens if they fail. We prefer over-collateralized positions, diversify across protocols and use insurance coverage against protocol failure where it is available. If we cannot explain where a yield comes from, we do not take it.

03Volatility harvesting

Systematic & quantitative trading

Proprietary algorithms built for the inefficiencies and fragmentation of always-open digital asset markets.

Digital asset markets trade continuously across many venues, spot and derivatives, with no consolidated tape. That fragmentation creates dislocations that disciplined systems can capture.

The thesis

Digital asset markets remain far less efficient than equity markets. Prices for the same asset can diverge between venues, and derivatives markets often price leverage demand in ways that a patient, well-capitalized participant can be paid to provide.

Strategies

  • Arbitrage: capturing differences in perpetual futures financing rates and in spreads between venues
  • Mean reversion: providing liquidity when prices overshoot
  • Trend following: participating in sustained moves with predefined exits

How we execute

Automated, low-latency execution with strict limits on leverage and drawdown, set before a strategy goes live. Capital held on trading venues is limited to what each strategy needs, and every venue is reviewed as a counterparty. Systems run within those limits; people set them, monitor them and change them only through the investment committee.

04SAFTs · Token warrants

Early-stage protocol rounds

Early-stage investments in infrastructure, DeFi and scaling protocols, made through SAFTs and token warrants.

We invest in early-stage protocol rounds where a credible team, an open codebase and sound token economics point to a network that can matter for a long time.

Where we invest

Infrastructure, DeFi and scaling: Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks, and the consumer and gaming applications that bring new users on-chain.

What we look for

  • A team whose identities and track records we know: we do not back anonymous teams
  • A whitepaper we believe in and a codebase we trust, with audited, open-source code
  • Transparent, sustainable supply schedules and clear value accrual to token holders
  • An active developer community, not just an active marketing campaign

How we invest

Through SAFTs (simple agreements for future tokens) and token warrants, from our own balance sheet. Because our capital is permanent, we can respect long vesting schedules and support a protocol through the years it takes to find product–market fit. After launch, we vote actively in the protocols we hold and can provide liquidity as the network grows.

05Partnerships · Block trades

Liquidity, OTC & governance

Liquidity for new protocols and structured products, OTC block trades and active participation in governance.

Protocol teams, foundations and advisors can bring us opportunities that sit between a venture round and an open-market trade.

Liquidity partnerships

We can provide liquidity to new protocols and structured products where the opportunity fits our criteria. A protocol gains a long-term liquidity partner that will not leave at the first drawdown; we gain fees and a position in a network we believe in.

OTC block trades

When a foundation, early investor or treasury needs to move a large position without disturbing the market, we can transact directly. We invest from our own balance sheet, so once terms are agreed we can execute promptly.

Governance

We vote actively in the protocols we hold, helping steer their direction and upgrades. We read proposals, form our own view and vote it, as an owner rather than a bystander.

06Beyond the focus areas

Something else?

Protocol teams and advisors can also propose opportunities that fall between these areas. If it fits our criteria and passes the quality filter, we will look at it.
